Ms Alrike Claassen

Alrike is a PhD Candidate and tutor at Education Futures at the University of South Australia. She is also a Research Associate at the Australian Centre for Child Protection.Her research is at the intersection of educational design, learning analytics, and generative AI. With over two decades of experience developing educational interventions across K-12, corporate, and higher education contexts, she brings a unique perspective to navigating complex educational challenges. Alrike's research explores instructors' decision-making when making data-informed decisions and using generative AI in educational design practice. Using Self-Determination Theory as a theoretical framework, her mixed-method research examines how factors influence the integration of these technologies in educational design. Her commitment to supporting vulnerable learners extends through her role as Research Associate at the Australian Centre for Child Protection, where she applies her expertise to improve outcomes for vulnerable children. This work directly informs her broader research agenda on creating inclusive, responsive learning environments.
