Chloe is a mental health researcher and practitioner, with broad research interests in mental health and suicide prevention, psychosocial disability, chronic illness, and stress and coping. Embedded within her work is a strong commitment to co-design approaches to intervention development that centre lived experience. About me
Chloe is a mental health researcher and practitioner, with broad research interests in mental health and suicide prevention, psychosocial disability, chronic illness, and stress and coping. Embedded within her work is a strong commitment to co-design approaches to intervention development that centre lived experience. She has a keen interest in implementation science to ensure that evidence-based interventions and research findings can be integrated into routine practice and systems.
Chloe's PhD was conferred in January 2021. Her doctoral research explored illness perceptions among adolescents and young adults with a parent with cancer, with a focus on how different types of illness perceptions were associated with mental health outcomes. She developed and conducted an initial validation of a quantitative measure that could be used to assess illness perceptions (see: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/pon.6168), with the aim of informing therapeutic intervention. She has published three papers describing this research.
Chloe currently works in the Department of Rural Health at the University of South Australia and is involved in a range of research projects. These include ongoing work related to www.ifarmwell.com.au (e.g., development, delivery and evaluation of supportive interventions for farmers and rural people) and the co-design, implementation, and evaluation of www.icanactnow.com.au (a freely available, self-guided wellbeing resource for the general population).
