Dr Chris Krolikowski is an expert in the field of urban tourism, with interest in diverse aspects of tourism, including urban regeneration, placemaking, events, and sustainability. About me
Dr Chris Krolikowski is an expert in the field of urban tourism, with interest in diverse aspects of tourism, including urban regeneration, placemaking, events, and sustainability. Having worked in the industry and academia, Chris uses extensive knowledge of tourism, events, and hospitality to develop research that is highly relevant to key stakeholders.
Through his local and international collaboration with industry, academia and community partners, his projects examine the value of tourism, events, arts & culture to placemaking; the growing impact of ‘overtourism’; and the importance of sustainability to tourism destinations. Chris applies interdisciplinary theoretical and methodological approaches to reflect the complex nature of tourism and events and places in which they occur.
Chris has a significant experience in curriculum design in the tertiary sector in Australia, including design of online courses. He is an active contributor to development of teaching innovation at UniSA Business. Having served on the Teaching In Innovation group and completing postgraduate studies in digital learning, Chris works with industry to create curriculum which fosters student engagement and critical thinking skills.
Chris is a member of the Council for Australasian Tourism and Hospitality Education (CAUTHE) and the Centre for Enterprise Dynamics in Global Economies (C-EDGE). He is also a reviewer for top-ranked journals in tourism such as Tourism Management.
