Faisal is a Senior Lecturer and teaching focussed academic of Civil Engineering at the University of South Australia (UniSA). He completed BSc Civil Engineering and Master of Engineering Management degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2002 and 2009 respectively. He obtained Australian Commonwealth Scholarship (Endeavour Award) to perform his PhD research at UniSA in 2010 and his PhD degree was conferred in 2014. He was the recipient of UniSA’s Early Career Development Fellowship during the period of 2013 - 2015. He performed a short spell research at National University of Singapore in 2015. Faisal currently works as a Program Director for Master of Engineering (Civil & Infrastructure, and, Water Resources Management) program at UniSA. He teaches Civil and Water Engineering related courses in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. His current research focuses on infrastructure compliant stormwater management strategies for developed and developing countries.
Faisal is a member of Engineers Australia, affiliated member of American Society of Civil Engineers, editorial board member of Water Conservation Science and Engineering Journal (by Springer), associate editor of Frontiers in Sustainable Cities Journal, topic editor for Sustainability Journal (by MDPI) and program directors' representative at UniSA STEM Unit Academic Board.
