Gottfried Lechner is Professor at UniSA STEM. His research is on wireless communications with a focus on satellite communications and free space optical communications.

Prof Lechner completed his Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.techn. degrees from Vienna University of Technology, Austria, in 2003 and 2007, respectively. He worked as a software developer from 1999 to 2002 before joining the Telecommunications Research Centre Vienna in 2002 as a Researcher in the area of Signal and Information Processing. In this role he collaborated extensively with numerous European research organisations and industry partners.
