About me
I hold a BEng (Hons) (Civil & Architecture) from the University of Leeds (UK) and a MSc in Geodetic Surveying from the University of Nottingham’s Institute of Engineering Surveying & Space Geodesy (IESSG). I was awarded a European Social Fund grant to study the latter and explored “The Use of Pseudolites to Assist Monitoring the Deformation and Movement of High Rise Buildings” in my dissertation.
On graduation I spent 10 years working as a surveyor in the UK undertaking projects including deformation monitoring, engineering surveys, boundary dispute surveys, detail surveys and terrestrial laser scanning. In 2013 I emigrated to Australia and continued to expand my survey knowledge through a number of senior and leadership roles.
Since arriving in Australia, I have been an active member of the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI) and am currently the Chair of the SSSI South Australian regional committee. Prior to this I was the regional treasurer and before that was a member of both the SSSI Young Professionals national and regional committees.
In December 2019, I became a Registered Surveyor in South Australia.
As of 10th February 2020, I joined UniSA as a full-time Surveying and Spatial Sciences lecturer having previously delivered the Survey Applications module as a prt-time lecturer in 2018 & 2019. I now look forward to working with the wider team to help educate and support future generations of surveyors and spatial professionals.
