Dr Hanna Tervonen

Hanna Tervonen is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the School of Health Sciences and currently working as an epidemiologist at the Cancer Institute NSW. Hanna worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the Cancer Epidemiology and Population Health Research Group at the University of South Australia between 2014 and 2016.

Hanna has a background in pharmaceutical sciences and public health. She holds a Doctoral degree in pharmacy (University of Eastern Finland, 2014), Master’s degrees in public health (University of Eastern Finland, 2014) and pharmacy (University of Kuopio, 2009) and a Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy (University of Kuopio, 2007).

About me

Hanna Tervonen is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the School of Health Sciences and currently working as an epidemiologist at the Cancer Institute NSW. Highlights

Hanna's main areas of research interest include population health, cancer epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, drug misuse and dependence, and the use of registry-based and administrative data for research purposes. She has experience in analysing several large datasets. 

Following the completion of her PhD at the University of Eastern Finland in 2014, Hanna has been working in the field of cancer epidemiology. At the UniSA, Hanna’s research focused on examining social cancer disparities.
