Dr. Koren Ganas is a registered psychologist with clinical psychology endorsement and a board approved supervisor with AHPRA. About me
Dr. Koren Ganas is a registered psychologist with clinical psychology endorsement and a board approved supervisor with AHPRA. She received her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree and Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology (USA), and her Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago (USA). She obtained a post-doctoral Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Fairleigh Dickinson University (USA). Dr. Ganas completed her predoctoral internship through the Arizona Psychology Training Consortium in paediatric and rehabilitation neuropsychology and completed her postdoctoral residency through APTC in child and adolescent mental health.
In addition to providing clinical services, Koren has worked extensively in medical and allied health education. She served as director of Behavioural Health at Deaconess Family Medicine Residency in Evansville, Indiana and then as research assistant professor in the Department of Health Science Education and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, Illinois. In September 2022, Koren accepted a role as Lecturer in Psychology at University of South Australia.
Koren migrated to Australia in 2020 and has focused on providing high-quality, evidence-informed clinical services and contributing to raising the bar of psychology education in Australia. Her research interests include decolonising psychology theory and practice, amplyfing voices of individuals with lived experience, and development of neurodiversity affirming models of support.
