Laura Garcia-Quintana is a Research Fellow at the University of South Australia's Future Industries Institute (FII). She is a chemistry graduate with a Masters degree on Nanotechnology. She was awarded her PhD in Materials Engineering in 2021 at Deakin University, and worked as Research Associate at Monash University and Deakin University before joining UniSA in 2023. Her research focus has always been in the energy field, either looking at new, safer materials for different battery technologies or developing new strategies for more efficient manufacturing of either batteries or, more recently, voltaic devices.

About me
Laura Garcia-Quintana is a Research Fellow at the University of South Australia's Future Industries Institute (FII).
During her PhD, which was part of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterial Science (ACES), she was looking into new electrolyte compositions for Na-O2 batteries using ionic liquids. The experience gained in ionic liquids and electrochemistry lead her to her position at Monash University where she continued developing her skills as an electrochemist, looking into different redox processes in ionic liquids. Working as part of the Future Battery Industries CRC at Deakin University, she found a new passion: translating fundamental research into commercial products. This led her to join the Thin Film Coatings Group at FII in 2023, where she is currently working in an industry project, developing new voltaic devices in collaboration with entX Limited.
