Marcia is collaborating with the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science in an exploratory study which is examining South Australian consumer fashion consumption and disposal behaviours. Individual wardrobe examinations are part of this pilot study to identify consumer composition and management practices.
The research is being undertaken at a time of heightened interest in the clothing and textile industry and long-standing concerns about the negative environmental and social impacts of the industry. Concurrently, the research reflect interest in the potential benefits of an alternative paradigm termed the ‘circular fashion economy’.
