About me
I am the coordinator, lecturer and teacher of ‘Tertiary Learning Strategies’ which is an online unit provided by University of South Australia (UniSA) to Open University Australia (OUA). This unit is an introductory unit and part of the Business Pathway. Also, I am the coordinator, lecturer and teacher of 'Applied Computer Practices' at UniSA College. This course provides a general understanding of Information and Communications Technology, and assists students in developing skills in word-processing, spreadsheet applications and presentation software.
Prior to taking my position at UniSA College, I have taught business courses at the undergraduate level at the University of South Australia for 3 years. My previous work history includes 12 years in small business management and consultancy in tax accounting.
During the past few years, I have developed a sound understanding of the needs of students undertaking enabling courses and transitioning to university studies. I have experienced teaching a wide range of students from different backgrounds, levels of education, ages, culture, and socio-economic status. I am passionate about motivating students, providing them with a supportive environment and encouraging them to embark on their tertiary education journey.
I completed the Graduate Diploma in Education Studies (Digital Learning) in 2019. This Diploma fits well with the courses I am teaching at UniSA online and face to face, and it supports me in implementing digital learning in educational settings.
