Peter has also worked on medical devices, lighting, outdoor furniture and aged care and his furniture work has won international competitions in Japan, Sweden and the USA.
His PhD from the Australian National University was on the design of pictorial assembly instructions for use in developing countries and on methods of researching and codifying knowledge for human-technology interaction design.
About me
Doctor of Philosophy Australian National University
Bachelor of Design University of South Australia
Bachelor of Architectural Studies The University of Adelaide
My PhD explored the design of Pictorial Assembly Instruction Design (PAIs). It explored the strategies, practices and knowledge that lead to the design of usable assembly instructions encompassing traditional paper based methods as well as exploring new digital methods of providing information.
My current focus is working with students in the Masters of Design (Industrial Design) to research and investigate design for health care and the aging population. We are working with a range of external clients to look at developing smart products for aged residential care and home health care providers focusing on the needs of the clients and care providers.
I also engage in furniture design and making with a focus on... Read more
