About me
I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology, undertaking my Honours research in chronobiology (sleep research), meal-timing and health symptoms in Australian flight attendants in the Behaviour-Brain-Body Research Centre (UniSA). I developed my knowledge in sleep and neuroscience further working on various projects at Central Queensland University’s (CQU) Adelaide-based Appleton Institute as part of a research team and as an academic staff member. Currently, I am PhD Candidate at the Centre for Cancer Biology (UniSA/SA Pathology) working in brain cancer research. As part of a research team, I use cutting edge technologies such as stem cell-derived brain organoids, single-cell sequencing, and bioinformatics to model interactions between the tumour and tumour microenvironment. I bring my experience in the field of Psychology into the cell biology space to integrate patient demographics and improve patient outcomes.
Now, as part of a teaching team, my role as an Online Tutor is to apply disciplinary knowledge and professional expertise during varied student consultations. Weekly consults include the facilitation and engagement with learning materials. As an online tutor I also contribute to the evaluation process by marking student assessments and the provision of feedback. Current teaching courses encompass a range of undergraduate Psychological Sciences such as Psychology 1A (2023), Introductory Research Methods (2023) and most recently Health Psychology (2024).
