Stefanie Bucher brings to Uni SA 20 years of clinical experience and 15 years of teaching in HEIs in both Australia and the United Kingdom. Stefanie was the clinical lead Speech Pathologist in a large central London Borough adult neurology specialist rehabilitation team with clinical interests and specialties include working with adults who have communication and swallowing difficulties resulting from neurological conditions.
Stefanie has provided academic leadership to Speech Pathology program teams both at University College London (UK) and at UniSA. Stefanie has collaborated and led on developing program curriculum and innovating in teaching and learning, with a particular interest in work integrated and interprofessional learning. Stefanie has contributed to strategic level development of professional learning and teaching for pre-registration students. This includes developing industry partnerships to create innovative placement models, procedures and documentation for assessing students on placement, ensuring that the teaching maintained currency against the shifting healthcare landscape.
Stefanie has a real passion and commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds and with many varied learning styles and needs, providing academic counselling to students and holistic pastoral care. Stefanie holds a philosophy that students are partners in learning and has demonstrated outstanding innovations in promoting staff and student collegiality.
Stefanie has a Master of Arts from Institute of Education (UK) (Teaching and Learning in Higher and Professional Education) This degree further enhanced her academic skillset to include leadership in adult learning and pedagogy, particularly relevant to clinical education and innovation in practice-based learning and interprofessional education.
