In his role as Support Librarian, Stephen is a member of the Library Services team based at City West and supports teaching, learning, and research activities, together with providing technical expertise in information discovery and resource use.

Stephen completed a Master of Information Management at UniSA in 2021 and was awarded the Australian Library and Information Association and UniSA STEM Prize for the highest achieving graduate in the Master's program. An article based on his research report in partial fulfillment of the Master of Information Management is forthcoming in the Humanities Research Journal.
Prior to coming to UniSA, Stephen has over twenty-five years experience in educational settings, retail and the not-for-profit sector, working in communications and marketing, project and program management, advocacy, training and community development. Stephen lived and worked twenty years in Europe, predominantly in France and Germany.
Stephen is also a trained art historian, writer and independent scholar, with recent publications appearing in Meanjin, Portrait: Magazine of Australian & International Portraiture, and the Journal of the Historical Society of South Australia. In 2022, he was awarded the Wakefield Press South Australian History Essay Prize, an annual award for the best essay on a topic relating to the history of South Australia, for his essay Open Doors: the art of charity in the Promised Land.
