Steve Brock is the Portfolio Manager, Research and Enterprise. He works closely with the Deputy Vice Chancellor and a small team on the implementation of strategy and projects designed to advance the University’s research reputation, engagement, impact and global reach.
Steve’s interest in the application of research to policy development goes back to his prior experience working in State Government as a policy and project officer in areas including multicultural affairs and improving access to justice for people with disability. He has also worked as a speech writer and business partner in communications in proactive and reactive media.

Steve Brock is the Portfolio Manager, Research and Enterprise. He works closely with the Deputy Vice Chancellor and a small team on the implementation of strategy and projects designed to advance the University’s research reputation, engagement, impact and global reach.
Steve’s interest in the application of research to policy development goes back to his prior experience working in State Government as a policy and project officer in areas including multicultural affairs and improving access to justice for people with disability. He has also worked as a speech writer and business partner in communications in proactive and reactive media.
Steve completed a PhD in contemporary Australian literature at Flinders in 2003 and has published four collections of poetry including Live at Mr Jake’s (Wakefield Press, 2020) and Double Glaze (Five Islands Press, 2013). He is the co-translator of Poetry of the Earth: Mapuche Trilingual Anthology (Interactive Press, 2014) and Desarraigo: 18 Poetas Transfronterizos (Nautilus Ediciones, 2021).
