After completing an apprenticeship at Defence Science as a machinist I completed my diploma in Civil Engineering. An opportunity came up in the lab where I studied at the Levels as the newly formed water research group the UWRC was looking for a technician that fitted my experience perfectly. After 14 years working in this area I was asked to become lab manager for the Civil Engineering lab. This eveolved into the NBE technical manager and now to the STEM technical manager.
In ths time I have been heavily involved in the commercial area of hydraulics and structural testing as well as research and teaching in many other areas of Civil and Environmental Engineering so learnt alot over the years
