Professor Tricia Vilkinas is an Adjunct Professor of Management at the University of South Australia Business School’s School of Management, and was the Foundation Professor of Management within the School of Management. Professor Tricia Vilkinas is an Adjunct Professor of Management at the University of South Australia Business School’s School of Management, and was the Foundation Professor of Management within the School of Management. Her research focuses on leadership in a variety of settings such as academia, public and private sectors and not for profit organisations. She has developed the Intregrated Competing Values Frameworks with her colleagues. This framework is a useful tool to assess and understand leadership capability. Tricia has conducted many 360 degree feedback sessions to assist indivduals to develop their leadership capability. She has also applied her leadership tool in a number of different cultures, including China and India.She has undertaken research in remote Austrlai identify bussiness success factors. And, she is also currnetly writing about job design and the importnat role Preferred Job Scope has in individuals reactions to their job..
Professor Vilkinas holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), a Bachelor of Communication (B.Comm), a Diploma of Psychology, and a Master of Psychology from the University of Queensland, and a PhD in Management from the University of Newcastle. She has previously held a range of senior management positions at UniSA, including as Director: International Centre for Management and Organisational Effectiveness (1992-2008), Director: Strategic Partnerships (1996-1998), and Head of the International Graduate School of Management (1992-1995).
Professor Vilkinas has an extensive research record, having published many book chapters, refereed and professional journal articles. She has written numerous research reports for government, industry bodies, and private organisations which have informed and guided public policy. She has authored or co-authored various books, and has presented her research at conferences throughout Australia and internationally. She has been the recipient of numerous grants to support her research, from the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC), UniSA, and private and public sector organisations.
Professor Vilkinas previously lectured at a postgraduate level, and is an active research degree supervisor including Supervisor of the Year in 2001. She sits on the Editorial Board of the Journal Women in Management Review, and is an ad hoc reviewer for Leadership Quarterly and Organizational Research Methods. She is a member of the American Academy of Management, the Australian Human Relations Institute, and the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Management.
