I am a graduate of the Early Childhood Education program at UniSA Magill, having completed my degree with honours. My honours research was centred on the areas of moral reasoning and values education in Early Childhood settings. My doctoral thesis was titled 'Fostering Children’s Capacity for Empathic Reasoning: The Role of Community of Inquiry in an Empathic Pedagogy'.
I have taught mainly in Reception classes in government schools, in Preschool settings, as well as running transition to school programs. I am an executive member of the South Australian Philosophy in Education Association (SAPEA). I serve on the editorial board for the Journal of Philosophy in Schools (JPS), which is an open access journal for research and theory focused articles about educational philosophy and philosophical inquiry with children.
I am the creator and coordinator of the MENtor Program for Males in ECE. This program provides support for male students currently completing an Early Childhood Education degree or specialisation. If you have any questions about this program please contact me for more information.
