Dr Alexandra Sorvina is a post-doctoral researcher within the Mechanisms in Cell Biology and Diseases Research Group at the University of South Australia.
Alexandra's research interests are within the field of prostate cancer, and more specifically identifying changes in the trafficking and metabolic pathways in prostate cancer cells. The aim of this research is to identify novel diagnostic and prognostic markers, which would help to distinguish between indolent and aggressive types of this disease. The other area of Alexandra's interest is the development of protocols for imaging of Rhenium- and Iridium-based probes, and their use in cancer detection.
