As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Dr. Ali Ardeshiri contributes to a number of contract and research projects in the area of urban economics, public policy and urban planning.
Dr. Ali Ardeshiri holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Urban and Regional Planning from Shiraz University. Dr. Ali Ardeshiri received his PhD in Planning from Newcastle University (UK). Dr. Ali Ardeshiri’s current research focuses on understanding and modelling human preferences and behaviour towards urban policies and practices. Dr. Ali Ardeshiri research and findings have been published in international refereed journals including Cities, Habitat International and Marine Policy.
As Chief Investigator, Dr. Ali Ardeshiri secured funds from several Govermental departments such NSW Office of the Environment and Heritage, Business South Australia, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, IP Australia and Meat & Livestock Australia, to provide insights on people choices and preferences.
Prior to joining UniSA, Dr. Ali Ardeshiri brings more than 7 years of experience as the chief investigator of multiple research contracts in urban planning topics such as cities' sustainable development, urban quality of life, urban environmental quality, housing and informal settlement and planned behaviour in relation to urban transportation.
