Ms Alison Deslandes

I am a specialist obstetric and gynaecological sonographer and ultrasound researcher.

I am currently undertaking a Masters by Research focusing on the accuracy of transvaginal ultrasound in the diagnosis of endometriosis when performed by sonographers. I also work as a sessional lecturer and examiner within the Medical Sonography program at UniSA.

I am passionate about sonographer education and professional development. I feel professional development is paramount to ensuring sonographers perform to their optimal ability within the healthcare sector. I am a regular attendee at local and national meetings as well as a regular presenter at national and international meetings. I am currently on the board of Directors of the Australasian Society of Ultraosund in Medicine. In 2019, I was awarded an associate fellowship of the Australasian Sonographers Association.

When I'm not working or researching I enjoy reading novels, camping and playing with my two young children.
