I have a passion for clinical work, education and science which has motivated me to challenge myself in diverse roles. I worked clinically as both a Registered Nurse and Nuclear Medicine Scientist for over 15 years. In 2016, I moved into tertiary teaching and research at the University of South Australia (UniSA) where I coordinate and deliver courses and lectures to Medical Radiation Science students. Generously funded by The Hospital Research Foundation, the HNP provided four weekend Point-of-Care Antenatal Ultrasound training workshops delivered to 50 rural/remote General Practitioners and Registered Midwives. I am simultaneously undertaking a masters of research and oversaw the implementation and deployment of a nation-wide survey to analyse rural antenatal ultrasound practices.

The HNP is an exciting practical research project commensed in 2018 and funded by the Hospital Research Foundation. It included workshop training in Point-of-Care Antenatal Ultrasound for Doctors and midwives servicing women from rural and remote Australian communities who have limited or no access to ultrasound services. In addition to the face-to-face training, a national needs analysis survey of utrasound accessability, utilisaton and training was conducted in 2019.
