Utilising local and international qualifications and professional experience, Angela combines 28 years of social work, counselling, coaching and training skills to facilitate resilience based counselling, coaching, clinical supervision and workshops to individuals and teams in a range of industries in her role as the Director of Live Well Counselling & Consulting.
Angela provides counselling, Employee Assistance Program services, coaching, training and clinical supervision to the government, not-for-profit and corporate sectors. Areas of training and specialisations include trauma informed care, cultural humility, leadership, vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue management, organisational fatigue, change management, resilience, and workplace wellness.
Angela provides resilience assessments, training and coaching programs for clients in the Return to Work sector Australia wide (including insurance companies) as well as SAPOL, SA Health, SA Department of Human Services, SA Department of Education, RSPCA, Animal Welfare League, Benson Radiology and ECH Aged Care.
In 2016, Angela presented at the National Sexual Assault Conference in Western Australia on “The Little Engine That Could: Building a resilient workforce – Leading cultural change within organisations”. Angela also co-presented “Helping Ourselves and Our Clients: Moving From Recovery to Resilience” with Kathryn McEwen in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2019 at the 16th Annual Hawaii International Summit on Preventing, Assessing & Treating Trauma Across the Lifespan.
Angela has a Bachelor of Science (Social Work) and a Master of Science (Criminal Justice) and possesses a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and is an International Coach Federation (ICF) and Resilience at Work (R@W) accredited Coach. Angela has been teaching at the University of South Australia in the School of Social Work, Psychology and Social Policy for the past 21 years. Angela is also an Assessor for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Mental Health Accreditation Program and the Specialist Master Trainer (Trauma) for the Working with Resilience Consortium (Global Initiative: https://workingwithresilience.com.au/our-people
As the Co-founder/Director of PeerThinc, an organisation supporting the personal, professional growth of individuals, businesses and organisations throughout Resilience and Wellbeing and Leadership development, Angela is supporting a First Nations People lead research and cultural consultation Resilience project with the R@W Consortium and UniSA field placement students: www.peerthinc.com
Angela is an active Board Member of the National Association of Services Against Sexual Violence (NASASV) and Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Aggression, Maltreatment & Trauma and Manuscript Reviewer for Journal of Childhood Sexual Abuse, USA.
