Anne-Marie Morgan is Dean of Programs (Education Futures) and Professor of Languages and Literacy Education at the University of South Australia. About me
Anne-Marie Morgan is Dean of Programs (Education Futures) and Professor of Languages and Literacy Education at the University of South Australia. She has previously held positions as Dean of the College of Arts, Society and Education at James Cook University and Head of the School of Education and Associate Dean Teaching and Learning in Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Education at the University of New England.
Anne-Marie’s research focuses on education policy from early years to higher education and in communities; languages and literacy education; plurilingualism, translanguaging, pluriculturalism and transknowledging; the work of teachers at all levels; Asian studies and languages; Indonesian studies and languages; Humanities and Social Science education; Montessori and other early childhood education; and the performing arts. She is currently lead Chief Investigator of an Australian Research Council Discovery project on early years languages learning; and Lead Researcher on an Australian Government commissioned project to develop a National Plan and Strategy for Languages Education in Australia.
Anne-Marie has published over 100 academic publications, and regularly presents invited keynote presentations nationally and internationally in the fields of languages education, early childhood education and the work of teachers. She is the recipient of multiple awards including national and university teaching awards, research awards, life memberships, service to education awards, and professional association awards. She remains an active member of national and international professional associations, and Australian and state Councils of Deans of Education, dedicated to supporting professional practice. She is committed to achieving equity of access to education for all and to the transformation of lives of societies through education.
