About me
Anson Chau is a Senior Lecturer in Medical Imaging, Medical Radiation Science. She obtained diagnostic radiography training in Hong Kong, as well as a fellowship in diagnostic radiography of The Hong Kong College of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists.
Anson began her academic career in dental radiography at the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong before moving to Australia after completing her PhD study. Anson joined Medical Radiation Science at Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia. She then took on a mentoring role in research and professional development for radiographers at The University of Hong Kong- Shenzhen Hospital before commencing her role at UniSA.
Anson has her main research experience in using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in clinical research. Most recently, Anson has focused her research on neuroimaging in dementia to identify individuals at risk in dementia, aiming at early detection of dementia and including differentiation of dementia subtypes by using structural, angiographic, diffusion, perfusion techniques in MRI and resting state fMRI, as well as PET-CT amyloid tracer. Apart from developing her own research interest and expertise, Anson has actively engaged in research with colleagues in other areas of medical radiation science.
Anson is currently appointed as Radiation Safety Officer of the unit, and a member of ARENA research center. In 2022/23, Anson co-chairs ASMIRT SA and NT branch committee.
