About me
Anthea is an educator in the sciences (chemistry, physics, biology) and enabling education. A lecturer at UniSA College since 2012, Anthea is Course Coordinator of Introduction to Biosciences (NASC 1009) and Science for Tertiary Learning (NASC 18) in SP2 and University Studies (EDUC 1075) in SP5. She is also an Academic Integrity Officer. With a background in chemistry and physics and a PhD on 'Analysis and amelioration of smoke taint in wine' Anthea is passionate about encouraging students to engage with the sciences to spark an interest in learning and discovery. Anthea is excited to expand science education within UniSA College whilst also exploring the impact of blended learning and digital technologies upon the delivery of science related courses within the enabling sector and STEM education fields. Anthea is currently undertaking a Graduate Diploma in Education Studies (Digital Learning) with UniSA to further her development as an educator.
With previous research involving wine science and 'smoke taint' in wine her research field is currently expanding into the use of digital tools and learning analytics to assist with supporting feedback, development of educative academic integrity practices and research into creative ways to support students in widening participation in higher education.
In 2018 Anthea received a UniSA Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning as part of the Academic Integrity Officer team: Mrs Tamra Ulpen, Dr Anthea Fudge & Dr Snjezana Bilic. For the development of supportive resources to enhance student learning of academic integrity (AI) which has influenced a significant reduction of AI cases at UniSA College. This work was awarded a 2019 Australian Award for University Teaching.
