Prior to her academic life, she managed international tours of highly respected theatre companies, worked as a producer at arts festivals, and participated in many visual arts projects. Her professional involvement and life-long interest in theatre and the visual arts sectors led her to her current active research interests.

Previous South Korean production companies I worked with include, A-net International, the Patron Company, and A to Biz; and theatre companies include Arikorea, Hyundai Puppet Theatre Company, Musical Theatre Seoul, Seol Musical Company, etc.
2006 - 2017: Project-based Professional English Script Writer, ‘Theatre Seoul’, Seoul, Korea.
Produced around 16 scripts in English for a children’s musical theatre company including the Merchant of Venice, Greek Rome Mythology, The Jungle book, Heungbu Nolbu, Romeo and Juliet, Around the world in 80days, the wizard of Oz, etc.

I am a freelance writer covering festivals and arts scenes for Cultural Space magazine by Sejong National Arts Centre, Seoul, Korea; the Arts Council Korea ARKO Web-Magazine; and PlayDB Web-Magazine by Interpark, Seoul, Korea.
2005 - 2007: Public Relations Assistant, Korea National Tourism Organisation, London, UK.
I worked as a public relations assistant and a promotion manager in London and Edinburgh when Korean performing arts teams were touring.
2023 Dr Boram Lee and Prof Ruth Rentschler secured funding of $333,000 from the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE) to produce a dance film titled "Counterpoise" and a documentary titled "Dancing Against the Odds" as part of their Connect2Abilities project. This project is in collaboration with Restless Dance Theatre, 29 Dong Dance Theatre, and the Korean Music Project.
2023 Dr Boram Lee won the Korea Foundation Fellowship for Field Research Program.
