About me
I hold a PhD in Psychology and I currently hold various casual academic positions at UniSA & UniSA Online. Since completing my PhD in 2020, my research focuses predominantly on the influence of the media and social media in a variety of contexts. This includes media portrayals of animals (such as sharks) and conservation issues, social media influence on health behaviours and psychological wellbeing, student’s use of social media, and the influence the media has on perception of risk. I also research more broadly within the area of conservation psychology including human dimensions of shark conservation, individual sustainable behaviours, and connection to nature.
I am a part of the Conservation Psychology and Applied Animal Behaviour research group and I supervise Honours and HDR students within the area of conservation psychology and media influence. I have industry experience in marketing research where I applied various psychological theories to marketing and behaviour change. I enjoy using a range of research methodologies including mixed-methods surveys, interviews, and media content analysis.
