About me

Associate Professor Carol Maher
  • ARENA member

I'm an Associate Research Professor in the Alliance for Research in Exercise, Nutrition and Activity (ARENA) at UniSA.

My research focusses on how children's and adults' daily activity patterns (e.g. physical activity, sleep and sedentary behaviors, like watching television) impact on their health. In particular, I'm interested in developing programs that help people improve their lifestyle and health, and which can be delivered at scale tohave  a positive impact in Australian communities.

My work explores how technologies such as wearables, online social networking, mobile phone apps, gamification and notifications can support people make better lifestyle choices, in a fun engaging way.
