Chanika Mannawaduge is a doctoral researcher in aviation human factors with over ten years of professional and academic experience. About me
Chanika Mannawaduge is a doctoral researcher in aviation human factors with over ten years of professional and academic experience. She has followed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Aviation) degree prior to commencing her successful career in the Civil Aviation Regulator. Chanika has worked in areas such as safety management, handling of dangerous goods, ground operations and international relations during her tenture in Civil Aviation sector. Development and implementation of domestic regulations concerning ICAO Annex 19 for safety management and state safety programme are significant projects she has contributed to during her career. She also faced two ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audits as a team member.
Also, Chanika has served as a team member of aviation accident investigations conducted through the regulatory during my employment. With her industry experience, she delivered lectures in aviation safety, aviation management and operations public and private universities apart from the curriculum development for aviation subjects.
Currently, Chanika is pursuing her Doctoral studies in the STEM Unit of the University of South Australia. Her research looks at the content, context, and implementation of fatigue management regulations in the South Asian Region. Chanika’s other research interests include safety management and air transport economics.
