Charles Giacco MRAeS has been involved in the teaching and coordination of tertiary law subjects in Australia and overseas since 1993. Charles lectures in and coordinates aviation law and aviation business courses in the Bachelor of Aviation programs at UniSA STEM.

About me
Charles Giacco MRAeS has been involved in the teaching and coordination of tertiary law subjects in Australia and overseas since 1993. Charles lectures in and coordinates aviation law and aviation business courses in the Bachelor of Aviation programs at UniSA STEM.
Charles has held a number of academic roles at several universities and TAFE institutes prior to joining UniSA STEM. He has delivered, coordinated and led a number of law subjects and programs across both the vocational education and training sector and the higher education sector. Charles has coordinated and delivered a range of ‘Priestly 11’ subjects in the Bachelor of Laws degree, as well as various commercial law units in the Bachelor of Business degree and Master of Business Administration degree programs. Charles has also coordinated, delivered and managed a range of law subjects in the Advanced Diploma of Legal Practice program. He has received recognition awards for teaching excellence and for outstanding contribution and excellence in industry engagement. Through his involvement with the Aviation Law Association of Australia and New Zealand, Charles has also been involved as a tertiary aviation law academic/research consultant.
Charles has worked as a legal practitioner in Victoria and in South Australia. He is an Australian legal practitioner admitted to practice in the Supreme Courts of Vic., SA. & NT., and in all Commonwealth courts. He is a Graduate Fellow of the College of Law Ltd (FCL). Charles maintains the currency of his memberships of various associations within the legal and tertiary teaching professions, including the Australasian Law Academics Association.
Charles has a strong interest in aviation law, and in civil aviation domestically and abroad. He is presently pursuing doctoral research involving the regulation of airport development and sustainability in Australia and China. Charles is on the executive committee of the Aviation Law Association of Australia and New Zealand (ALAANZ) Victoria Branch, and is the student membership coordinator for the ALAANZ national council. He is the co-founder and a co-convener of the Australia and New Zealand Air Law Moot. Charles’ other aviation related professional memberships also include the Royal Aeronautical Association, the Aviation Historical Society of Australia, and the Civil Aviation Historical Society.
At a community level, Charles is a volunteer with and a representative of Twinless Twins Inc. within Australia. He enjoys parenthood and community work.
