As co-course coordinator I am responsible for delivery the Pharmacy Intern Training Program (ITP) which consists of two courses PHAR 5042 Advanced Pharmacy Practice and PHAR 5051 Social and Ethical Issues in Health within the Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice. These courses are designed within the NAPE Intern Training program to enable interns to build upon the knowledge and skills gained as an undergraduate and assist in developing the competencies necessary for pharmacy practice and achieving registration with AHPRA. I am passionate about fostering a culture of professional excellence and give students the opportunity to demonstrate their extended skills through critical thinking and deep reflective processes. This prepares them not only for the lifelong learning approach that is required as a health professional but allows them to have an impact not only their personal practice but impacts their workplace and profession. UniSA interns are well equipped to be independent and successful learners and with further experience have become discipline leaders in their chosen fields of practice.
