About me
Welcome to my homepage. I am a lecturer in Clinical Exercise Physiology within the School of Health Sciences.
I am an accredited Exercise Physiologist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia, with experience in the prescription and delivery of exercise-based interventions to help prevent and/or manage chronic conditions or injury in order to restore optimal physical function, health and/or wellness. I have been employed within the Health and Fitness Industry since 2000.
I am an early career researcher interested in the efficacy and underlying mechanisms associated with exercise based interventions for the management of chronic health conditions and for promoting healthy ageing, with a specific interest in the management of long-term side-effects associated with cancer and/or it treatment. I recently completed a Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD) investigating neuromotor performance, exercise-induced fatigue responses, musculoskeletal health, and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in cancer survivors and the adaptations to exercise training interventions at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst, NSW.
My passion and interest in health and exercise has been the driving force in pursuing further studies and research within the clinical exercise physiology profession and for helping students become competent health practitioners. I have teaching and research experience mentoring and supervising both undergraduate and post graduate students and am the coordinator of the 4th year course HLTH4011 Clinical Exercise Physiology.
