Associate Professor David Evans is the Professorial Lead: Research Education in UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences. He is also the Deputy Chair of the UniSA Human Research Ethics Committee and a Research Ethics Advisor.
His current research focuses is on older people in the community and people with dementia. Completed research has explored the impact that dementia has on marriage, the challenge of having dementia and living alone in the community, workplace engagement for younger people with dementia, and the challenges faced by workers who develop dementia while still employed. Completed supervision studies have explored recruitment and retention of locum nurses in rural and remote Australia, person centred care, evidence-based practice, impact of younger onset dementia on dependent children, dementia & culture, respite for carers of children with complex health needs and fall prevention. Current supervision projects are investigating the treatment of older nurses and midwives in the workforce, suicide and older people and caring for a person with a motor neuron disease
