Mr Douglas Pierre

Hi there,

My name is Douglas Pierre, and I am a ''UniSA Online'' and ''Clinical Health Sciences'' Teaching staff.  Since 2015 ive been teaching in the Health, Exercise and Sport Psychology (on campus) program, and more recently, I've started teaching in the Health and Psychology Online program, Foundations of Physical Activity and Health (on Campus) program and various online health/comunication and psychology courses via UNISA online. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Masters degree in Applied Sport Psychology, focusing mainly on understanding Stress, Anxiety, Sports Performance/injury and coping in elite athletes.   

Following the completion of my Masters, I've occupied various Sport Psych roles in various countries including The UK and Seychelles islands working mainly with elite Basketball, Volleyball, soccer and Rugby players. In most of my previous roles, I've had the opportunity to work with a number of health professionals, through various multidisciplinary teams, developing best practice frameworks and approaches for clients presenting with various physical and psychological issues. 

This year will be my 6th year working at UniSA, and apart from teaching in various academic programs, I've also got the opportunity to occupied a Course Developer role as well as being casual Online Course Facilitator.  I am also an Associate member of the ''South Australian Sport Medicine Association'' and The Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counselors and I form part of the South Australian College of Sport and Exercise Psychology(CoSEP) team.
