Elio Arruzza is a Lecturer and Research Academic in Medical Radiation Science, specialising in the stream of Medical Imaging.
Elio completed a Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging) at the conclusion of 2020, and was awarded the University of South Australia Medal and ASMIRT (Australian Society of Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy) Award for academic achievement.
Elio has worked clinically as a Radiographer/Medical Imaging Technologist for Dr. Jones & Partners Medical Imaging. His clinical experience has spanned across both X-Ray and CT departments at variety of sites including Calvary Adelaide, St Andrew's, Burnside War Memorial, Noarlunga, Tennyson Centre and SportsMed (Stepney) hospitals.

Elio also commenced a Master of Research (Health Sciences) in 2021, which is focusing on the diagnostic accuracy of CT and ultrasound for the diagnosis of acute appendicitis. His past research has entailed the efficacy of whole-body CT in the emergency department, as well as the use of novel pedagogical techniques for undergraduate health science students.
Elio is a committee member of ASMIRT (Australian Society of Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy) and a member of ARIA (South Australia Association for Italian Researchers in Australasia).
