Elizabeth (Liz) Smith graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Adelaide University in 2000. She has worked in the plastics manufacturing industry and as a research and consulting engineer with the Turbulence, Energy and Combustion Group based at the University of Adelaide. She joined the University of South Australia in 2006 and is a Senior Lecturer and previous Program Director in Engineering with the UniSA STEM Unit. Her research interests are focused around engineering education, professional skills development and curriculum design and mapping. Liz has received numerous awards for her teaching including a national citation for ‘outstanding contributions to student learning’ by the Commonwealth Government’s Office in the area of Learning and Teaching (OLT) for her work in developing inclusive teamwork skills in engineering.
