Dr Elizabeth (Lizzy) Tait joined UniSA in July 2024. She has an interdisciplinary academic background and studied at University of Glasgow and Robert Gordon University. Before becoming an Information Management academic she worked as a researcher in the areas of labour market economics and digital economy. Her main area of expertise relates to the digital transformation of business and culture through the application of emergent technologies such as: AI, laser scanning, 3D visualisation and semantic linked data. About me

Lizzy has led and co-designed projects across multiple countries and industries with a particular focus on: cultural heritage, sustainable development and economic regeneration of the urban built heritage environment. This includes novel and immersive technologies for museums and galleries to develop engaging exhibits for patrons and how technologies can be used for civic engagement and participation.

Civitas-Portis (2016-2020) This is a large multi-partner European project looking at sustainable mobility in port cities for economic and community enhancement. The project is funded by Horizon 2020. RGU award €450000
Smart Peripheral and Remote Airports (2015-2018). Funded by Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme. The project aims to heighten awareness of the importance to rural and remote communities of local air services and to use innovative technologies to make them as cost effective and environmentally friendly as possible. RGU award €180797
Castle to Cathedral to Cashmere. (2015-2017). The project was to facilitate heritage-led economic development through various mediums ranging from website with mobile technology, 3D interactive model, 3D high definition scanning, interpretation at over 25 sites, signage, public realm / access works to activity and events programme. The project was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund RGU award £25000.
New Radicals? Youth Digital Engagement in post-referendum Scotland (2014-2015). The project investigated youth engagement with politics in the aftermath of the Scottish Independence referendum with a particular focus on the lowering of the voting age to 16 and the use of digital technologies. The project was funded by RCUK Digital Economy- Communities and Culture Network+ Award £29960.
Bring Your Own Heritage (2014-2015). The project investigated community engagement with advanced technologies including 3D laser scanning and visualization for local built environment heritage. The project was funded by the RCUK Digital Economy - IT as a Utility Network+ Award £45525
Community engagement and participation with 3-D cultural heritage visualisations (2014). This was a small ‘seed’ grant to do a proof of concept project to develop a workflow for 3D laser scanning and visualization in built heritage research. It was funded by the RCUK Digital Economy- Communities and Culture Network+ Award £4502
Social Networking Analysis Training (2012) I was awarded funding to run training on social network analysis for researchers in our research centre. It was funded by ESRC Digital Social Research Fund Award £3500.
Tracking Digital Impact (2012). A project to develop a toolkit to help researchers to track and monitor the impact of their research. The project was funded by JISC Award £26000
