About me
Essam is a hardworking, well-motivated and highly efficient person who possesses a good team spirit and high productivity with innovative thinking. He has excellent work experience in design and supervision of various types of construction projects in Egypt and United Arab Emirates. He has a long experience over 8 years in teaching structural engineering courses, software, and workshops to undergraduate students in Egypt and Australia. He has a strong research background (more than 10 years) in Structural Material Science, Construction, and Environmental Engineering gained from his Bachelor, Master, and PhD studies. His interest is to apply knowledge gained from his study, research and work experience, where he can utilize his strong attention to details, and personal attributes of enthusiasm and willingness to benefit organizations and the communities by being involved in large construction projects with innovative nature.
Essam completed his Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering (first class honor) from Mansoura University in Egypt (1st ranked in Egypt) in 2008. He was ranked the second among +500 graduates from my department. He was working as assistant lecturer and design engineer in the Structural Department at Mansoura University from 2009 to 2014. In 2014, Essam completed his master’s degree by research in Structural Engineering. He moved to United Arab Emirates in 2014 and worked as a senior Structural Engineer in Dubai from 2014 to 2017, which helped me to apply my skills and knowledge in the design and construction in a wide range of structural projects. Turned back to academia, in 2017, Essam moved to South Australia and started PhD research in Structural Engineering in University of South Australia after He has received the highly competitive International Postgraduate Research Scholarships. He has successfully published five research articles in highly ranked Q1 structural engineering journals taken from my PhD study. Essam completed his PhD study in June 2021. Currently, Essam is working as a technical officer for structural timber testing project in University of South Australia. He is looking to strengthen his research career by being involved in future research projects as a postdoctoral research fellow in his area of interest (structural material science and structural engineering systems and design).
