About me
I am a studio educator in Printmaking and teach eco-aware Etching and Relief printmaking processes. These skills equip students with the necessary knowledge of how to work as a professional emerging artist in the field of printmaking and also give them skills to combine printmaking techniques with other disciplines such as jewellery, graphic design, architecture and ceramics.
I was a recipient of a Helpmann Academy grant in 2017 to complete a Green Certificate in Intaglio Printmaking at the Zea Mays Printmaking School in Massachusetts where I undertook research in eco-aware printmaking techniques and studio practices.
I have undertaken residencies in Mexico at La Ceiba Grafica Printmaking School in Veracruz and also the National Autonomous University of Mexico in Morelia, where I had the opportunity to collaborate with other printmakers, dancers and photographers.
I am the coordinator and curator of the Intercambio Grafico Printmaking Exchange between Mexico and Australia and have successfully exhibited the exchange in Mexico, Australia and Russia. The second Intercambio Grafico exchange was featured in the autumn edition of the Print Council of Australia’s magazine Imprint in 2017. The third exchange is underway and will be exhibited in late 2020. The exchange gives emerging artists the opportunity to develop work, create a dialogue with international artists and also have their work exhibited overseas.
My practice focuses on creating unique state prints, installations and collections. I am interested in the alchemy of etching and embraces variation, elements of chance and repetition in my work. My prints delve into the realms of dreams, mythology, the human connection to the natural world and investigates the possibilities of what home is and can be.
