Ian Hutchison teaches film and television history, theory and practice. He has a background in industry, working as a production assistant, production manager and director/producer for Television New Zealand, and has experience of both single-camera and multi-camera production across a range of programme genres and formats. He is a former co-editor of Continuum: Journal of Media and Cultural Studies and co-edited (with John Farnsworth) the book New Zealand Television: A Reader, Palmerston North: Dumore Press, 2002.
