Jacinta is a credentialled Advanced Practice Pharmacist and Lecturer in Pharmacy within UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences, where she currently coordinates Pharmacy Practice courses in the 2nd and 4th years of the Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours program.

About me

In Addition, Jacinta Chairs the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) Residency Advisory Committee, sits on the Leadership Group for the SHPA Research Speciatly Practice Stream and is a fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia.
Jacinta has a keen interest in good governance and strategic leadership and currently holds roles as a Board Director for both the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia and Pharmacy Development Australia.
Jacinta began teaching at UniSA while undertaking her PhD within the Discipline of Pharmacology, School of Medicine at the University of Adelaide. Her PhD research investigated the pathophysiology behind medication overuse headache, particularly in patients using opioid analgesics, and other neuroimmune-related consequences of chronic opioid use. Her current research is focused upon pain, opioids, addiction and harm minimisation.

Jacinta is actively involved in advocacy within the pharmacy profession. Currently Jacinta holds the role of Board Director for the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA), and sits on the SHPA Education and Educational Visiting Leadership Group. Previously she has been elected to multiple committee positions within the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA), including Chair the SA/NT Early Career Pharmacist Group, and SA/NT representative on the PSA National Practice Support and Education Committee.
