About me
Professor Jacqueline Coyle-Shapiro is a Professor at the Centre for Workplace Excellence, University of South Australia Business School. Her work focuses on the employee-organization relationship and in particular, how these relationships affect what individuals contribute in organizations. She is currently working on ideological currency amongst slum school teachers in India; the impact of employee-organization relationships on employee health and the consequences of psychological contract breach for employee behaviour. Her research interests include employment relationships, psychological contracts, social exchange theory, and organizational citizenship behaviour.
Professor Coyle-Shapiro holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University College Dublin, Diploma in Business Studies from the London School of Economics, a Master of Science Degree from University College Dublin and a PhD from the London School of Economics. She has previously worked at University of Oxford. She has held a number of visiting positions in the US, Australia, France, Ireland and, taught in Singapore, Colombia, Norway, Germany and Portugal.
Professor Coyle-Shapiro has received an Outstanding Teaching Performance Award from the London School of Economics. She has been elected as Representative-at-Large and Chair of the OB Division of the Academy of Management and more recently, been elected to the leadership track (2016-2021) of the Academy of Management.
Professor Coyle-Shapiro has published 40 academic journal articles and book chapters to date, including the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology and Journal of Organizational Behavior. She has co-edited two special issues of journals and two books on the employee-organization relationship: The Employment Relationship: Examining Psychological and Contextual Perspectives (2004) and The Employee-Organization Relationship: Applications for the 21st Century (2012). She served as Consulting Editor (2002-2006) and Senior Editor (2007-2012) for the Journal of Organizational Behavior, and is currently on the editorial boards of the Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Behavioural Science and Journal of Managerial Psychology.
