About me
I work with Program Directors and Course Coordinators embedding Aboriginal content in undergraduate programs for UniSA STEM. Alongside of this I, together with Professor Delene Weber, developed and deliver the award winning Fire and Culture course. I am of Ngarrindjeri and Bungandidj (Boandik) descent through my father and his Mother.
From 2017 through to 2020 I worked for UniSA as a sessional academic providing lectures and tutorials across a range of subjects including Diversity, Women in the Workforce, and particularly Aboriginal Context, teaching into several STEM programs as well tutoring in Professional and Technical Communication with UniSA Creative. Throughout this time I also worked for COTA SA as Director of ZestFest delivering their annual festival for modern ageing.
Prior to this, I worked for the University of South Australia as Manager of International Alumni (from 2013 -2016) working with international graduates from UniSA upon their return to their home countries. I worked for the South Australian Department of Premier & Cabinet from 2011 to 2013 leading the Age Matters project to address mature age productivity in the state. As Programs Manager for the Leaders Institute of South Australia from 2006, I delivered the renowned Governor’s Leadership Foundation program for four years. I was General Manager of Arts in Action South Australia’s peak Disability Arts agency from 2000 to 2006. I've held many roles in the arts industry including Front of House Management positions for the Adelaide Festival in 2017/18/19 along with the Adelaide Fringe in 2010 and as a Community Music Officer for Country Arts SA.
Passionate about being an active citizen, I am currently a borad member for Australian Dance Theatre. I take pride in my civic contribution, and previously served as Chairperson of Restless Dance Theatre for 7 years, I was Treasurer for 3 years before that, along with many years as a Governing Councillor for my children’s schools. I was Deputy Chair of Vitalstatistix for most of the 6 years I was on the board. I have also served 6 years as an industry peer for Arts South Australia funding panels and more recently for the Australia Council for the Arts on the ATSI peer panel.
I was awarded an Asialink residency in 2008/09 with Teamwork in Delhi, India, working on the Jaipur Literature Festival. I hold a Master of Management (Arts and Culture) from the University of South Australia conferred in 2012.
