About me

Jeff Naqvi is a lecturer and course coordinator in the School of Creative Industries. With 20 years of industry experience behind him, Jeff began his time with UniSA as an industry guest speaker and loved it so much, just didn't get off the premises!

He also leads the strategy, marketing, and change management consultancy, Pier Advisory. A former global deputy CMO, global head of PR, director of strategy, and director of commercial development and marketing, Jeff’s work both here and internationally (UK, Canada, Russia, Eastern Europe, Belgium, and China) equips him with a strategic and pragmatic approach.

Throughout his career, he has worked and advised across numerous sectors including government, financial services, accounting, law, charities and NFPs, luxury goods, retail, fashion, and now, higher education.

Jeff is a regular speaker on making brand, marketing, communication, and employees a core component of implementing business strategy. His spare time involves putting his young family through the weekly emotional rollercoaster of the English Premier League, and contributing to his local community and professional industry. He is a former State President and national Board member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and in 2015 was elevated to Fellowship status, the highest recognition from Australia's leading professional body for that sector. He has also sat on the boards of local and international organisations, including the Global Alliance for PR and Communications Management.

In 2019, his commitment to teaching and learning in the higher education space was recognised by the UK body Advance HE, formerly the Higher Education Academy, with elevation to Fellowship status.
