About me
I am a Senior Lecturer in Sport & Exercise Science where I coordinate Biomechanics of Human Movement and Sports Biomechanics. Prior to my current position I held a CJ Martin Research Fellowship at the University of Leeds, funded by the National Health & Medical Research Council (NHMRC).
My main streams of research broadly relate to sports and clinical biomechanics for improving health and human performance. I have a range of skills and experience in biomechanical (laboratory-based) studies using a range of techniques such as 3D motion analysis, various biomechanical instrumentation, computational modelling and medical imaging. I have a particular interest in footwear biomechanics and have been involved in projects evaluating new footwear designs, technology, and athlete/end-user experience.
I currently supervise PhD and Masters students in topic areas relating to both sports and clinical biomechanics. For details on current research projects and opportunities for Masters or PhD study, please send me an email.
I have published and shared my work widely in scientific journals and at international and national conferences. My research and the teams I have been involved with has been recognised with awards, including from the Australian Institute of Policy and Science (Young Tall Poppy). I regularly collaborate with industry, clinicians and research groups in the U.S., Europe and the UK.
