John is a Forensic and Analytical Chemistry graduate with an Honours Degree in Science from Flinders University. He completed his PhD in Materials Science at the Ian Wark Research Institute in 2007 and subsequently took up the position of AMMRF Flagship Engineer and ToF-SIMS Technologist with Scientific Services (2007 - 2016). His current role is Manager Technical Services: Chemistry & Biology in UniSA STEM, where he is accountable for the successful integration,delivery and management of an extensive range of technical operations/services that supportSTEM/FII’s research, teaching and commercial activities. This includes leading a team of technical staff,acting as a discipline expert and reference point in providing innovative solutions, optimising resources, and working collaboratively to ensure the delivery of streamlined technical services acrossthe Unit.
