About me
John is Executive Officer within the Academic Unit UniSA Justice and Society.
Having lived in a number of countries and in small communities of 200 people as well as large cities of several million, John has a peculiar and undecipherable polyglot of an accent that no one can quite pin down.
John has acquired a wide range of business and management experience from across higher education, the healthcare sector and the legal industry, and has dabbled in entrepreneurship. In his current role, John provides high level executive and project management services to the Academic Unit's executive team, including strategic advice, managing communications and projects, and implementing strategies to support the achievement of the Unit’s strategic and operational objectives. Prior to his role, John was Program Manager: Dean Academic within the Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences at UniSA.
Before joining The University of South Australia, John held a number of management and project management roles across government, private and tertiary sectors, including at a NSW local health district, the University of Sydney regional medical school in Broken Hill NSW, The University of Auckland in New Zealand and a large international law firm in Los Angeles, California.
John has a Bachelor of Business Studies and Master of Business Management Studies both from Massey University, New Zealand, and a Diploma of Project Management from Swinburne University, Melbourne. In 2015 John received the NSW Premier's Volunteer Recognition Award for his community work in a remote Barkintji Aboriginal community.
