Mr John Walker

John is a Project Manager within the Student Engagement Unit, working on developing the UniSA Student Mental Health Framework Project.

John has acquired a wide range of business and management experience amassed from across the tertiary, healthcare and legal sectors, as well as entrepreneurship. As a manager, John has managed teams of up to 9 direct reports, and as a project manager he has lead teams of up to 15.

He has a Bachelor of Business Studies and Master of Business Management Studies from Massey University, New Zealand, and a Diploma of Project Management from Swinburne University, Melbourne. In 2015 John received the NSW Premier's Volunteer Recognition Award for his community work in Ivanhoe (a remote Barkintji Aboriginal community in New South Wales).

In his current role, John is responsible for leading and coordinating the development, planning and delivery of a UniSA Student Mental Health Framework, with overall responsibility for delivering outcomes across all aspects of the project lifecycle, managing project deliverables and communication, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and supporting project reporting requirements.

Having lived in six countries across four continents, in small remote communities with as little as 250 people to large metropolitan areas of over 12 million, John is at home in almost any environment, and has even developed a peculiar and undecipherable polyglot of an accent that no one can quite pin down.
