Jonathon Louth is a research fellow at The Australian Alliance for Social Enterprise (TAASE).
Jonathon has worked across government, the community sector and academia both in Australia and the United Kingdom. He has previously worked as an advisor for the South Australian Government.
Jonathon’s research focuses on intersections between political economy and the lived experience of the everyday. An interest in the philosophy of (social) science and complex systems underpins much of this research.

Jonathon’s research focuses on intersections between political economy and the lived experience of the everyday. An interest in the philosophy of (social) science and complex systems underpins much of this research.
This has informed his research on Southeast Asia (particularly Cambodia) and the politics and consequences of economic integration. He has also undertaken extensive fieldwork in remote communities in the Northern Territory. These interests have generated work on gender, everyday lives, neoliberal governance, financialisation, financial capability, constructions of order and the impact of economic thought upon social structures. Jonathon also has a track record of collaborative research in the area of electoral politics where he has written on compulsory voting, electoral systems and the efficacy of voting.
